First Day of Advent
So I have decided to try and record a song a day for advent. Today Father David encouraged us to “Wake Up” and challenged us to pray more and spend time with God realising his presence not only in the past and not only in anticipation of the future hope we have but here and now.
This will be my resonse in part to that challenge. Posting a song a day for advent spending time meditating on what these songs are saying and using them as a means of prayer. I hope this process may also be a blessing for anyone who may want to follow this journey.
This song “Room in my heart” we just introduced today at mass during the Eucharist. Christ is King, as we were contemplating last week but is he King in our hearts? What idols, what reasons are holding us back from the fullness of the risen Saviour present with us by His Spirit? This advent is a perfect time to refelct on what is filling our hearts that should not be. Lets pray, as this song exclaims “Be the king of my heart, Jesus”
